Did you know that our RMT on Main Street, Taylor Barnett, now performs hot stone massage?

Great news - if your hot stone massage is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist - it is covered by insurance!

Taylor uses basalt stones which are dark heavy lava, and originally volcanic. Volcanic stones hold the heat very well due to their density and mineral content. Basalt is the most common type of rock on the earth, with most of the ocean floor made up of basalt. The stones vary in colour from black to dark grey with a greenish tinge, and occasionally a red tinge. These rocks have been tumbled in rivers, lakes and streams, making them nice and smooth - they look like they are polished by machine, but they are not.
